A landslide is what we needed to surpass all the voter fraud, caging, suppression, purging, flipping and various other shenanigans the GOP tried again this time. Does this mean the Rovian campaign tactics of the past 8 years are over? Are we seeing a change in how campaigns are run? Could it be that all future candidates will try to run an honest campaign based on issues and inspiring the american people?
This may be true, but we shouldn't be complacent on the voter fraud that has occurred. Hopefully President Obama and his new congress will do something about the voting system. Hopefully the landslide won't make them forget what we've had to deal with for the past 8 years. What about a federal universal voting system where we have paper ballots for all states, extended voting hours, more early voting locations and where several forms of ID are valid? How about getting rid of those damned Diebold machines and potential computer hacking issues? I think we've learned that a solid plan and connecting with the american people is what we really want and need. Not smears, lies, cheating and stealing. A landslide is exciting, but it shouldn't be the only way to win a fair election.
